Unfortunate we aren't going with them but I have some good friends that are going to be going to Asheville for an upcoming week. I know there is a sizable contingent from NC on this forum so I thought I would ask. They are restaurant owners and are very into the local food and craft beer scene. If any of you guys have recommendations of some "can't miss" destinations… breweries, beer bars, pubs, restaurants in the Asheville area that I could pass on it would be greatly appreciated.

For food and beer Wicked Weed is a can't miss. They are also heavy into the sour beers if they like those, but you have to go there after 2pm or something like that to get them in there downstairs bar. Let my brain wake up here and I'll come back and post some more.

If there interestes in taking a short drive East, maybe 15-20 mins, they should check out Pisgah. One of my favorites in the area. Otherwise other breweries for me in this order Asheville, Green Man, Wedge, Highland. Hi-wire is newer and I havent been to the brewery so not sure about that one. I did not care for Lab. Barleys pizza has great food and an excellent tap list, though not a brewery. And for breakfast I never miss Early Girl, they have this smoked gravy they out on some things that is amazing.

All I can say is I could score a pint of Tater Ridge on tap I'd be one happy dude

Thanks Matt for the suggestions. Just did a search and there are a couple of threads already. Mostly from before my time as a regular here. Lots of ideas there so that helped. If anyone else thinks of something new there I should consider feel free to chime in. Thanks.
