I am planning a red beer on Monday. I am ready, and the weather looks to be perfect...

With any luck, I'll get to brew my annual clone of GLBC's Nosferatu Imperial Red/Stock Ale on Monday.

Well this is the longest "weekend" of brewing thread I have seen. But I'll keep rolling with it. My smoked brown is bubbling along nicely aleady from this afternoons brew. Tomorrow I will be heading down to the brewery in CLT to try the beer I brewed there a couple weeks back.

Interesting. Last week I was rubbing my chin over what to make with some lager yeast I have up & running (Wyeast 2005 Mexican Cervesa). I made a sort of Mexican Vienna and also a nice looking amber lager with it. I was going to make a pale lager with corn and the whole shebang but it would probably be close to Christmas by the time I drink it and who wants that? So I put a Red Lager recipe together and plan to make it this coming week. Pils, Munich, some Special B and an ounce of dehusked Carafa III which seems to produce some very nice redness when the beer drops clear. Perle and Tettnanger for the hops, 2005 for the yeast. Red Lager, here we go. Cheers Beerheads.
