Going to a huge beer fest tonight in St Pete. 60 something breweries including a few from people I know. Going to Brew Fab before hand to see how some of the pro equipment is made and drool all over it.

Gonna be a fun day.

Cheers!

Oh man. This was a great venue and a great time. 60 breweries all 10 feet from each other. Only problem was that you could drink 10 beers, 4oz at a time, in about 5 minutes.

My buddies are starting a brewery called Hidden Springs Ale Works in Tampa Heights. I gave them my portion of a flanders red to put on cherries from our solera barrel. The beer turned out fantastic. One of the best sour beers I've ever had. It's kind of unreproducable though. We put a bunch of different beers in there along with the beers we brewed for it. I can't wait until the next pull.

Brew Fab was neat. They made a hop shooter that gets pressurized with nitrogen to 80psi then shoot 80lb of pellet hops into the 50 bbl fermenter through the blow off arm for dry hopping. It's like a big ass potato gun with a big hopper. ####ing cool.

These guys make all their stuff in house except manways and lids for their equipment. It's pretty cool. Nice guys too.

Cheers!

I paid for my VIP tickets to a similar micro brew fest. I will get 15 tickets instead of the 10 the main entrance guys are getting . I am excited , my first brew fest. There promising us over 50 breweries.

I thought of taking a notebook. 7 hours and 15 shots of beer i'm likely to forget something. :frank:

Get a taxi. Get stickers and cards from the brewers. Stay at a nearby hotel or have a DD. It ought to be fun.

Getting dropped off by a non-drinking relative. It's 25 minutes from the house. I am planning on taking all the brewing paraphernalia i can get. Not until 1 November.

Start training your liver now. Increase your reps until you pass out.  :frank:
