You could put a fine point on this. Some people might not like "homebrew" for whatever the reason. Some people may just not like whatever style of homebrew you have at the moment... although with 13 beers on tap, I would doubt it. I have actually gone into brewpubs and seen 8-10 beers on tap that the brewery made and did not like ANY of the offerings. A number of Belgians, Barrel-aged this or smoked that, Russian Impy Stout, etc. I realize most people would like something on that list but I had a hard time. Still, I wouldn't leave a party because of that. I had a superbowl party where everyone was drinking my beer and the one guy was very nervous about it and finally said, NOPE, NOPE, NOPE... went to the quickie mart and came back with Miller Lite. Whatevs.
what is this brew pub that doesn't offer a pale ale or an amber or a blonde??? most brew pubs have at least 1-2 of these.
nervous? like he thinks the beer will make him sick?

Sorry for the thread jack Corbin. Cool on the brewing. As homebrewers, we don't often get to have that many people try out beer at one time.

I wish I could remember where we were but I was looking at all the beers like: Bourbon Barrel Stout, Mushroom Porter, Oaked Wee Heavy, Russian Imperial Stout, Belgian Farmhouse with Brett, Oatmeal Stout, Belgian Tripel, etc. and I was amazed I couldn't find something.Corbin: Blame me for the threadjack. Unfortunately a lot of craft beer bars have gone this way too. Can I get a f-ing pale ale??? I don't want to go out and my only choices are 7+% beers in 10 ounce tulip glasses with 3" of head for $9.

Couldn't have said it better. When I go out it might be a chance for me to have beers I might not make at home but for me it might be an IPA or maybe a chance to get something I can't ordinarily get. I wouldn't bash those styles as I know many people like them but how about a little selection in the group of beers?Unfortunately a lot of craft beer bars have gone this way too. Luckily, I have a great local bar with almost unbelievable prices for the city. And the food is good too. If you're ever in the city, I recommend it. It spoils me for other places. Check out the draft menu/prices:

Pretty solid for a corner bar.

Gentrifying. Hipsters. But it's been around long before that. There are some nice spots in the area.
Moody Tongue brewery but tasting room isn't open yet

The area is gentrifying but it always been a great neighborhood. It was originally Bohemians then Latino with great Mexican food and culture.
