The crop wont be so good this year for malting, but the good news is that last year was a bumper crop so we might be ok for supplies.

I buy in bulk and at the rate I brew, I should be ok for base grain.

I am glad I still have a good stock pile.  Also glad I have a connection at Valley Malt.

not if they use locally sourced barley and that crop hasn't been affected by the rains

good point.  I'm betting still more expensive than the stuff that could be had in a bulk buy unfortunately.

damn mic!  you need to get brewing!  100# is pretty easy.  that's less than 5 10 gallon batches.

Why such a long break over the Fall/Winter?

*Nods knowingly*

It's amazing how many people think the climate in Spokane must be "just like" the climate in Seattle.

But I've got that issue too!

If you're only doing 5 gallon batches, brew in the kitchen. I have a small wort chiller that I can hook up to the sink faucet.

I can't do full wort boils in the kitchen.  Well... I suppose I could if I decided to drop down to 2.5 gallon batches.

I guess connection means something different to you than it does me. I have never paid for any if their malt while having a lot of it.

I guess I'm lucky in that aspect. I have no issue with full wort boils.

Glass cooktop.

I'd brew in the garage, but there is no water access and I'm not interested in creating an ice rink on my driveway.
