I'll start by admitting I was drunk when we did this.
My buddy ordered a sour beer. It was an italian sour beer. I have no idea what. I asked him if it was a gueze, lambic, or what not. He wouldn't tell me. He wanted me to try something first.
I tried the beer and it was delicious. Not overly barnyard, fruity brett character, lactic and some acetic acid. Nice beer, very pleasant. He said, now try the Grand Cru. The grand cru tasted sweet! It was crazy. Then our buddy thats a manager there brought out some sweet tea. He mixed the sweet tea about 50/50 in a taster with the italian sour. BAM - Grand Cru with a little something extra.
Turns out the italian beer is best described as a Blonde Flanders except they add some salt to it. Apparently Grand Cru is back sweetend to balance it. It was a pretty cool mini tasting.
