As requested.

11g

OG 1.056

IBU 58

SRM 6.5

65% Pale Malt

28% Wheat Malt

7% Cara Munich 40

or

55% Wheat Malt

38% Pale Malt

7% CaraMunich 40

60 Magnum 30 IBU

15 NS          17 IBU

5   NS          10.6 IBU

Whirlpool NS     2.5 oz

Dry Hop  NS      1.5 oz

You can adjust the hop times/amounts as you wish but this hop profile really shows off the NS very well,

Thanks.

I use about about the same amount of Nelson in my Nelson Wheat for 5g but I do not have any other additions so that may be the difference.

I will give this a go.

Looks really nice. I haven't used Nelson yet. I have been planning an IPA coming up with 2:1 Galaxy:Nelson in the Whirlpool and dry.

I think you sent me one of these.  I liked it okay but that is not your fault.  I think NS is a little too fruity for me to use in any quantity.  again - no flaws on your part, just a hop I don't think I like that much.  citra might be the limit of fruity hops for me.  I like it but I can tell at higher levels it would be too much for me.

Citra is beyond even me alone in the boil. Whirlpool, hopback, and dry is great.

That looks nice.  The last one I made was 50/50.  Guess I like more wheat.  Sadly, I haven't had Nelsons around for a while.

Like the use of Magnums upfront.

I'm not sure then.  I only have that one example that drez sent me which like I said, didn't seem to contain any faults.  the NS hops brought a flavor that seemed very foreign to me in terms of hops - could be the NZ growing conditions but I don't really know.  they are like nothing I'd ever really had.  it just happened to be something I'm not a huge fan of.  it was a very eye opening experience for sure.

I did send you one and I will agree that it is not a hop that everyone likes and I find it changes over time in the beer.  It may be me but I have also noticed this hop needs a bit of time to come together in the keg.

I think when I try this recipe I am going to mix some galaxy into the dry hop to give it that Stone Enjoy By feel.

have you tried limbo ipa from longtrail?  a nice use of mosaic hops there.  still a little much in terms of fruit for me but if you like that kind of thing it seems well executed there.

Heard about it, never saw it around here.  You have to remember I like the fruity hops, hell I have an all mosaic APA posted here!  Although I think you liked that one more than the nelson beer.

Not only do I concur but I happen to agree (too). My NS Saison had no appeal until a month in the keg. For awhile I contemplated a dump.
