I really wanted to brew today but I'm not feeling it.  I was going to make my Signature Ale and move a blonde ale (made with Ultra) from primary so I could get to the 1056.  Instead, I'm going to put it off until Saturday or Sunday but I did filter my water.  I suppose I should measure out my grains too.  I'm moving a little slow today after having 20+ people over here last night and drinking beer with my BIL until 1am or so.  ZZZZzzzzz.....  <_<

IIPA on Sunday. A hop freezer cleaner so to speak. Just want to get all of the loose end AIPA type hops cleared out to make way for 2014 stuff.

Mashing my Signature Ale right now. This is a 30-IBU beer with all of the hops [clean] added at 60 minutes. I have used Magnum, Northern Brewer, Opal and today I'm using Perle. Racking my Ultra Blonde Ale out of primary so I can use the 1056 for the Signature. Cheers.

Hefe is doughed in. I did a small infusion at 115 for 15 minutes then 151 for the remainder.

Nice day to brew here. Sun is out, supposed to be in the low to mid-50s. Hell, I might wash my car when I'm done brewing! :D

Ended up being a great brewday here. The beer I transferred into secondary was clear, gold and smelled great (3 ounces of Ultra pellets added in the last 10 minutes of that one) and the beer I made today went really smoothly. I even recycled the hot IC runoff to wash my car and then try to score a couple of points and wash my wife's car too! ;)

Prepped for a Two-Hearted IPA in the morning. Not sure if i should use Safale 05 or Wyeast 1272. Leaning toward the 1272..Any opinions  on doing that?

I'm drinking a 2-Hearted Ale clone I brewed w/ US-05.  'Tis quite nice.

That said, I've heard 1272 is the yeast Bell's uses in 2-Hearted.  I can't swear to that, so take that with a big grain of salt.

As drez said, give the 1272 a try and see how you like it.

-7dF with a -22dF wind chill and I'm getting set up. Sounds like a perfect Northern MN winter brew day.... I'm changing the name of this brew to Bitter Ass Cold Bitter.  Good thing for the torpedo heater and an insulated garage.  I'll pop one of the garage doors open about 1/3 of the way vent.
