I think the term we are looking for is "narcissistic". Yeah... I've known (and worked) with people like that before. Really makes it a joy to get up and go into work in the morning.

He won the silver. That means it was the second best example of the style among all the submissions. It is not a perfect example, there was one submission that was a better example of the style.
Isn't the old saying, "Submit your beer to the category you brewed, not the style you tried to brew."
For me the style is what is in the glass. Not the recipe or the yeast, or the temp you fermented, not the grain you bought.

And now comes the apology...

"I will definitely apologize to the city thinking I said it was a stupid population. That was never my intent. I think these beers take a lot of education and a lot of studying and a lot of tasting to really grasp. It had nothing to do with IQ or intelligence."

It may be free, but it just lost him at least one credible person who would have otherwise recommended... I've seen Blktre's FB page too, and the person he recommended going there was disappointed but acknowledged the brewery lost business.

And now comes the apology...
"I meant to say 'You're not stupid, per se, just uneducated'"
Quite the appology

Nice call out... so he apologizes for something the city "thinking" something and not for what he "actually" said. LOL!
As you said... not really an apology, but I suppose if the city is as stupid as he thinks they are, they won't know the difference. Somehow I don't think that's the case though.
