Now that I'm fully set up in the Lakehouse, the divorce is almost done and I've an ample supply of pus-wah, I'm getting back into brewing full steam. Wanted to for a while but just didn't have the time to devote to it.

Today, my brew pal is dropping off 2 keggles and a HLT plus, Northern Brewer is supposed to arrive with my mashtun valve and screen combo. It's going to be a fun weekend! :D

Is 'pus-wah' a variety of hop or yeast?

It'll make you hop and, on occasion, there may be yeast involved... :D

Brew pal is coming over later tonight and we're going to decide. I'm thinking start simple with an APA or some such.

No brewing this weekend but a good productive couple hours retrofitting the keggle and HLT.  Opened the top of the keggle to make room for the false bottom. Took everything apart and scrubbed with PBR until shiny. New teflon tape and washers all around. New valve for the boil kettle. New pipes for the valves - just need to finish the false bottom. And did the coiling for the new immersion chiller (no pics).

Maybe another weekend and I will be up and running.

The insides of the kettles got scrubbed with PBW.  The insides of HIM got scrubbed with PBR.  :D

Oh and nice setup by the way.

Are you going 3-tier, 2-tier, 1-tier, etc etc.?

Working on that... I'd prefer gravity fed, brewpal wants pump driven.

If you have the space, gravity feed it. Pumps are a pain in the butt. Or do a combo gravity/pump so you only need one pump.

That's what I'm thinking. I don't love the thought of having boiling hot water where it can fall on my head .. :D

I'm thinking have a pump between the HLT and mash tun, which is slightly elevated, and allow that to gravity feed into the boil kettle.

Just curious, what about pumps is a pain? Maybe I am lucky with mine but they are pretty issue free.
