With everything you order and spend on brewing how much per year would you say you spend?

I would say in 2014 I spent around $400

I don't do much in the way of equipment now that I'm pretty much set up how I want to be.  On ingredients I'm really not sure.  I probably go through about $200/year in grain.  Then another $100 in hops maybe.  Then probably $50-60 in yeast and other stuff.

so maybe $400/year?  hard to say.

I'd say $400 is a good figure on grain and yeast. It's the purchase and consumption of.. ahem... "R&D" that kills me $$$

Hard to say for me.  I just spent about 120 on grain, another 50 on some hops and assorted specialty grain.  I tend to keep a lot in "stock"  so when I buy it is a bit upfront costs. I have over 700#'s of base malt I think and I like to have about 20 different specialty malts on hand, most in 5# containers.  I am always tinkering with equipment and I like to have backups of certain things.  I will go with $500.

I do my best in life not to create "credible evidence" of such things.  I have no idea.

What I do know is that it is likely cheaper than regular visits to a therapist.

I dunno about that... some of us tend to go off the deep end at times...

Well last year I spent thousands on a new sytem. This year I'm up to $500 already stocking up on grains and hops and another $350 on equipment. So I would suspect double or triple that throughout the year on more ingredients. Plus whatever equipment items I may buy.

I'm probably in $500-600 range.  All my equipment is in place for the most part so those "major" purchases are out of the way.  Now it's just ingredients and the occasional new fermenting vessel or two.

I'm in a bit of a funk with my brewing spending. I got used to brewing like a pauper due to knowing I was going to be changing careers and going back to school (2009-2012) then catching up on finances from me not working. I'm now caught up but still in the mindset that I need to save at all costs. My grain is at an all time low with no crystal and a couple partial bags of pils base. Got a bunch of roast malts that are getting old. Been letting it dwindle and brewing with what I have. That last Czech Cerne ended up being a hodge-podge of leftovers but still came out great. Prolly only got a few ozs of hops left that aren't older than the hills.Need to drop a couple hundred to get back on track.

Dunno, and don't want to.  Occasionally I'll still figure out what a batch costs.  Still on par with BMC products, and of course much less than craft.
